Timber!

Early last week a storm raged outside. The winds whipped around our home and trees and the rain came down in huge sheets. It was more water in one evening than I have ever seen in my life in Arizona. With the storm, a large portion of a tree in our front yard came down also. The rest of this beautiful but dead 100 + year old was draping itself above Quayde's bedroom. He has been sleeping in the landing in the hallway since that night. Early this morning the tree company came to take down the rest of the 75 feet.
The had to take piece by piece and swing it out away from the roof. Then the rest of the tree was chopped and pulled with a truck to fall towards the front. It came down loud and hard!
A very big truck parked literally right in front of my bedroom window. They came very early this morning.
Yes that is posion ivy wrapped around the tree. Everyone has been warned, "DO NOT TOUCH"!

Thank you so much to the men who worked so hard this morning. Anyone want to help come and cut it all up? It's going to take us a little while to finish the clean up.The cost of getting the tree down was not cheap but I feel it was necessary considering the safety issues. We have to finish the rest of it ourselves. I am so grateful that the rest of the tree did not come down on the house and Quayde is grateful that tonight he has his bedroom back. A Big Thank You to the guys from Frazier's Tree Service!
